Job Overview: The Safeguards Information Assistant (State Declarations) plays a vital role in supporting the IAEA's mission by collecting and processing information declared by States regarding their nuclear materials and activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The Safeguards Information Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: processing State declared information such as nuclear material accounting data and Additional Protocol declarations; performing quality control checks on the data received; reviewing and assessing the information to identify any discrepancies; drafting timely correspondence to States regarding the technical correctness of their declarations; assisting States and departmental colleagues with reporting tasks; developing training materials under the guidance of analysts; and supporting the improvement of process methodologies and tools related to State Declarations. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication skills to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the verification process.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a minimum of five years of relevant working experience, ideally in an international environment. Experience in preparing summaries and reports is essential. Proficiency in MS Office applications is required, along with the ability to use databases effectively.
