Job Overview:
The UN Public intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Intern will be involved in supporting the advocacy work of the SRSG-CAAC through various communication efforts. The intern will work under the supervision of a staff member in the office, contributing to building awareness and support for the office's initiatives among Member States, donors, media, and the policy community. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in public information and communications within the context of the United Nations, focusing specifically on issues related to children affected by armed conflict. The intern will assist in media monitoring, content creation for various platforms, and organizing events that highlight the themes of children and armed conflict. This role is crucial for fostering international dialogue and cooperation on this pressing issue.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to: assisting with communications efforts to raise awareness about the SRSG's advocacy work; supporting media monitoring and analysis; drafting and editing content for print, web, and multimedia formats; updating the office's website and social media channels; and helping to organize special events at the UN that focus on children and armed conflict. The intern may also be assigned additional tasks as needed, contributing to the overall mission of the office and gaining valuable experience in public information and advocacy.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). Additionally, candidates must be proficient in standard software applications such as Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and Teams. Experience with Content Management Systems like WordPress or Drupal, as well as design and editing software such as Canva, is required. A strong interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential, along with the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a relevant academic program. This includes either a graduate school program or the final year of a bachelor's degree. The educational background should ideally be in fields related to communications, international relations, social sciences, or similar areas that align with the work of the United Nations and the specific focus on children and armed conflict.

Experience:

Languages:
