Job Overview:
The Fundraising Partnerships Officer will play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing relationships with current and prospective donors throughout the entire donor cycle. This position involves managing formal obligations such as proposal preparation and reporting, which are essential for generating financial and strategic support for CERN. The officer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, securing donations and grants, and building partnerships with corporations and foundations. This role requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies tailored to CERN's projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals. The officer will also be tasked with tracking, analyzing, and reporting on fundraising performance and partnership impact, collaborating with internal teams to prepare donor agreements and reports, and conceptualizing communications materials for fundraising purposes. Additionally, the officer will support the Due Diligence process, ensuring compliance and transparency in all fundraising activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies for CERN's fundraising projects.
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, including planning and conducting donor meetings, events, and experiences.
• Research and pursue funding opportunities with foundations, including writing proposals and reports.
• Track, analyze, and report on fundraising performance and partnership impact to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts with project goals, preparing donor agreements and reports as necessary.
• Conceptualize and produce effective communications materials for fundraising purposes, ensuring they resonate with potential donors.
• Support the Due Diligence process to maintain compliance with organizational standards and donor expectations.
• Engage in continuous learning and adaptation of fundraising strategies based on performance metrics and feedback.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Fundraising, International Relations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grants management, donor reporting, and stewardship within a non-profit charitable context.
• Proven ability to meet financial targets and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Experience contributing to initiatives aligned with organizational mission and values, delivering measurable impact.
• Experience in fundraising for Science and Education or a related field is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with software for Graphic Design is an asset.
• Experience in an international context is also beneficial, showcasing adaptability and cultural awareness.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in fields such as Fundraising, International Relations, or a closely related discipline. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of fundraising within an international scientific research context and to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Experience:
The position requires demonstrated experience in fundraising, grants management, and donor stewardship, particularly within a non-profit charitable context. Candidates should have a proven track record of meeting financial targets and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in fundraising for Science and Education or related fields is advantageous, as is familiarity with international fundraising practices and donor engagement strategies.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication at CERN. Additionally, candidates should have a commitment to learning French, which is beneficial for engaging with local stakeholders and enhancing communication within the organization.

Additional Notes:
This position is a limited duration contract for 2 years, with the possibility of extension up to 8 years and eligibility for an indefinite contract tenure. The role requires a commitment to working 40 hours per week, fully onsite at CERN. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of working during nights, Sundays, and official holidays, depending on the organization's needs. The job grade for this position is 4-5, and it offers a competitive salary that is tax-free, increasing in line with relevant experience. Employees are entitled to 30 days of paid leave per year, plus an additional 2 weeks of annual closure.
