Job Overview:
The Principal Banker plays a crucial role in project development and implementation, encompassing all aspects of project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring for various investment instruments offered by the Bank. This position requires a high level of competence and understanding of the banking sector, particularly in Supply Chain Finance (SCF) transactions. The Principal Banker will serve as a senior member of a project team or as an operation leader, typically handling less complex transactions than an Associate Director or Senior Banker. Responsibilities include leading project teams, supervising junior banking staff, and contributing to business development, client management, and policy dialogue. The role demands effective leadership, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring compliance with the Bank's standards and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal Banker will be responsible for structuring and executing SCF transactions, leading the origination of new opportunities, and managing project teams. Key duties include negotiating terms and conditions, overseeing project due diligence, ensuring quality of technical cooperation assistance, and managing client relationships. The Principal Banker will also monitor portfolio performance, manage implementation issues, and contribute to policy dialogue initiatives. Additionally, the role involves business development activities, including marketing efforts and identifying new SCF opportunities, as well as assisting in the recruitment and training of junior bankers. The Principal Banker is expected to maintain high standards of integrity and ethical conduct while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, computer literacy, and excellent stakeholder management abilities. Leadership, coaching, mentoring, and relationship management skills are also critical, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of the local language is advantageous.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly regarded and can enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant relevant experience in the financial industry, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Practical experience in transaction structuring, negotiation, and execution with financial institutions and corporate clients is essential, along with a thorough understanding of international trade finance and supply chain finance products.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this role, as excellent written and oral communication skills are required. A good command of the local language is considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
