Job Overview:
The Intern position at the EBRD is designed to support the implementation of the Bank's Green Economy Transition (GET) 2030 Strategy. The intern will work under the guidance of Principal(s) or Associate Director in the Policy, Research and Partnerships (PRP) team within the Climate Strategy and Delivery (CSD) Group. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including data management and analysis, green mobilization, and operational support across multiple workstreams. The intern will contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of green finance operations, which are crucial for the Bank's sustainability objectives. The position requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of climate and sustainability policy, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Green Mobilisation activities across various donors and financing programs, including those funded by the EU. Key duties include analyzing donor requirements, sustainability frameworks, and climate-related policies relevant to green finance activities. The intern will assist in preparing and coordinating project documentation for donor submissions, ensuring that projects align with applicable climate and sustainability standards. Additionally, the intern will conduct research and analysis on regulations and policies related to climate, environment, and sustainable finance, including EU legislation. The role also involves preparing responses to technical queries from donors and partners, maintaining internal databases, and providing operational support for project execution. The intern will contribute to knowledge-sharing activities by preparing briefing notes and thematic summaries on sustainability topics, and will support internal workflows and coordination across teams involved in project delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess relevant academic degrees and professional experiences that combine strong financial, business, and economics training with knowledge of climate and environmental policy and sustainable finance. Familiarity with EU policy frameworks is desirable. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret regulatory and technical documents. Experience with development finance, donor-funded programs, or blended finance instruments is a plus. Knowledge of international environmental and social standards, such as the Paris Agreement and TCFD, is also advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a sound understanding of business and finance principles and have knowledge or experience in emerging markets, particularly in EBRD countries of operations.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a relevant academic background, typically a degree in finance, economics, environmental science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in sustainable finance or climate policy may be beneficial. Candidates should have a solid foundation in financial analysis and an understanding of the principles of sustainable development and environmental economics.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some level of experience, which may include internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to finance, sustainability, or policy analysis. Experience in stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage complex processes are advantageous, as the intern will be expected to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages from the EBRD region is considered advantageous, as it may enhance the intern's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the Bank's mission.
