Job Overview: The analyst" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Assistant Analyst is a pivotal role within the Operations & Service Management division of the EBRD. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to engage in a variety of operational tasks that are essential for the smooth functioning of the Bank's middle office functions. The Assistant Analyst will work closely with Banking origination, portfolio teams, and the Treasury front office, ensuring that all operational processes related to disbursements and transactional activities are executed accurately and in a timely manner. The role requires a proactive approach to managing a portfolio of basic operations, which includes interacting with multiple teams across the Bank such as Treasury, Risk, and the Office of General Counsel. The Assistant Analyst will also be responsible for managing project covenant reporting and supporting colleagues in various tasks, thereby gaining valuable experience and insights into the Bank's operations. A continuous improvement mindset is essential, as the individual will be expected to contribute to enhancing operational processes within the OSM function, ultimately aiming for a 'best in class' operational environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Analyst will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: executing operational processes across various activities in middle office support functions, ensuring proper documentation, booking, funding, and monitoring of the Bank’s products; delivering outstanding operational performance by adhering to established metrics for timeliness, quality, and customer satisfaction; responding promptly to operational queries; communicating effectively with relevant departments to manage risks associated with projects; supporting the wider team on tasks related to transactions, reporting, and data management; maintaining service levels and standards in day-to-day operations; contributing to the improvement of the OSM control environment; and fostering a collaborative atmosphere among colleagues to achieve operational outcomes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent work experience. A solid foundation in general banking, legal, and credit skills is essential, along with a basic understanding of treasury and banking products. Strong customer service orientation is a must, and familiarity with systems such as Summit, Frameworks, SAP, Debt Domain, and SWIFT will be considered advantageous. The ideal candidate should be a strong team player with excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required, and experience in a team that has undergone transformation using continuous improvement techniques is beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory, and knowledge of an additional language is a plus. A positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude, along with strong interpersonal skills, is essential for success in this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as finance, business administration, economics, or a related discipline. Candidates with equivalent work experience in relevant areas may also be considered. The emphasis is on having a solid academic foundation that supports the analytical and operational demands of the role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a foundational level of experience in banking or financial services. While specific years of experience may not be mandated, familiarity with operational processes in a banking environment, as well as experience in customer service roles, will be advantageous. Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the Bank. Knowledge of an additional language is considered advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile, particularly if it aligns with the regions in which the EBRD operates.
