Job Overview:

This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operational payroll issues in collaboration with other payroll team members. The Assistant Analyst will focus on delivering all payroll and benefit-related aspects of employee contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with EBRD policies. The role requires a strong output-driven mindset, with the ability to work under strict deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. The Assistant Analyst will also be involved in validating and administering benefit claims, investigating anomalies, and ensuring that all payroll processes are understood and executed correctly. This position is integral to the smooth functioning of payroll operations and requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Analyst, Payroll will be responsible for a variety of tasks including validating and administering all benefit claims, providing advice on policies, and investigating discrepancies. They will ensure accurate data entry into the SAP system for all Joiners, Movers, and Leavers (JML) activities, monitor data quality, and ensure that monthly payroll is processed accurately. The role includes acting as a center of excellence (COE) for payroll-related leave inquiries, validating retirement plan calculations, and producing monthly payrolls while adhering to strict audit controls. The Assistant Analyst will analyze errors and omissions, prepare payroll recharges and journals, and conduct multi-currency reconciliations of payroll accounts. They will also liaise with third-party service providers and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven professional international payroll experience, ideally within the financial services sector. Strong system skills, particularly with payroll applications like SAP and Swift, are essential. The role requires excellent planning and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work independently, and a strong attention to detail. Candidates should have experience with data analysis tools and processes, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong partnership and influencing skills are necessary for positive stakeholder engagement, along with excellent communication skills to respond flexibly to stakeholder needs. The ability to exercise judgment and handle sensitive information discreetly is also required.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in finance, human resources, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in payroll management or human resources would be advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of payroll legislation and best practices, as well as familiarity with international payroll processes.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in an international or multi-national environment. Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable, as is familiarity with complex payroll systems and processes. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of managing payroll operations effectively and efficiently.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the EBRD's operational regions.
