Job Overview:
The Analyst position within the EBRD’s Advice for Small Businesses Programme is crucial for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through various advisory services. The role involves a comprehensive range of activities including the initiation, structuring, execution, implementation, monitoring, and completion of advisory projects and non-project activities related to Non-Financial Services (NFS). The Analyst will be responsible for tasks assigned by the Principal Specialist – NFS/BR, which may encompass designing and coordinating advisory projects, conducting due diligence, and ensuring alignment with the strategic directions of the SME Finance & Development group. The Analyst will collaborate with regional networks and sector counterparts to identify the business needs of partner banks and develop tailored advisory projects that address priority areas. This position requires a proactive approach to business development, ensuring a robust pipeline of high-quality advisory activities that align with the EBRD’s strategic priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be tasked with delivering various instruments and NFS activities under the Advice for Small Businesses Programme. Key responsibilities include performing all activities in accordance with the Bank’s policies, donor requirements, and compliance standards. The Analyst will work closely with the regional network to originate, implement, and monitor NFS-related advisory activities. They will contribute to the preparation and review of project documents, assessments, and implementation plans, while also analyzing the growth prospects of partner financial institutions (PFIs) in NFS. The role involves generating a pipeline of advisory activities in priority areas such as digitalization, green economy, and inclusion. The Analyst will support the monitoring of NFS implementation, track key performance indicators, and prepare inputs for management and donor reporting. Additionally, the Analyst will assist in developing internal and external reports, coordinate marketing and visibility activities, and perform other duties as requested by the Principal Specialist.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, along with strong business and financial analytical skills. The ability to interpret financial accounts and conduct analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills, as well as effective communication, coordination, and negotiation abilities. Proficiency in writing advisory project proposals and reports is advantageous. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory, and fluency in the local language of the country of operations is also required. Candidates should be computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance is required for this position. Equivalent work experience may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in financial principles and analytical skills necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in commercial management consultancy, development institutions, or financial institutions such as banks. Candidates should have a strong understanding of financial institutions and the SME financing ecosystem, including the challenges SMEs face in accessing finance and non-financial support services. Experience in one of EBRD’s strategic SME priority areas, such as green economy or digitalization, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both written and verbal. Additionally, fluency in the local language of the country of operations is essential to effectively communicate with stakeholders and clients. Knowledge of other languages relevant to the EBRD’s operations may be considered an asset.

This position is a short-term contract with a duration of 12 months. The role is based in London, United Kingdom, and may require travel within the country and internationally.
