Job Overview:
The Project Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of migration-related projects within the IOM framework. This position involves coordinating project activities, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and procedures, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. The Project Associate will be responsible for monitoring project progress, preparing reports, and assisting in the evaluation of project outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of migration issues and be able to work collaboratively with various partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in accordance with IOM standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community groups, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, budgets, and work plans.
  • Conduct research and analysis on migration trends and issues relevant to the project.
  • Support the organization of workshops, training sessions, and other events related to project activities.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Assist in the evaluation of project outcomes and contribute to the development of best practices.
  • Provide administrative support to the project team as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of migration issues and IOM's work is an asset.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international relations, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an advantage.

Experience:
At least two years of relevant work experience in project management, preferably in the field of migration or humanitarian assistance. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Russian and/or Uzbek is an advantage and will be considered a plus.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require occasional travel within the country. The contract duration is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and funding availability.
