Job Overview:
The Associate Construction Management Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the procurement, planning, implementation, and supervision of construction projects aimed at enhancing public spaces in Jordan. This position involves ensuring that construction activities adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The engineer will assist in reviewing technical drawings, supervising on-site activities, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with UN-Habitat procedures and donor standards. The role is vital for delivering high-quality, sustainable public space interventions that contribute to the overall well-being of communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Associate Construction Management Engineer include providing technical assistance and oversight during construction, monitoring compliance with design standards, conducting quality inspections, and verifying material compliance. The engineer will also support the resolution of technical issues, prepare and review payment certificates, and maintain documentation of construction milestones. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with stakeholders, organizing project meetings, and preparing progress reports. The engineer will assist in project administration, procurement, and logistics, ensuring accurate records are maintained in accordance with UNOPS standards. Knowledge sharing and capacity building through training sessions are also part of the responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a secondary school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or related fields with two years of relevant experience. Experience in urban space construction, landscaping, and hydroponics/aquaponics is highly desirable. A recognized professional certification in civil engineering is also preferred. Proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools is essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a secondary school diploma with extensive experience or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Candidates with additional certifications or memberships in professional engineering associations are encouraged to apply, as these qualifications enhance the candidate's profile for the role.

Experience:
The position requires relevant experience in urban space implementation, site supervision, and infrastructure project management.
