Job Overview:
The UN Information Management Consultant position is designed to support the review, strengthening, harmonization, and development of the Information Management systems within the Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Programme (ICIP). The consultant will work closely with the Director of ICIP and relevant technical focal points to enhance data quality, standardization, analysis, and decision-support across both Headquarters and Field Offices. The role involves assessing existing information management systems and tools, providing recommendations for improvement, and contributing to the development of UNRWA's geo-spatial portal. The consultant will also be responsible for technical support in developing information products, ensuring effective reporting flows, and providing user-oriented technical assistance to ICIP staff. This position is crucial for improving the usability of data for planning, monitoring, and oversight functions within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the UN Information Management Consultant include:

• Strategic Support: Review existing information management systems and prepare assessments with recommendations for improvement. Support the harmonization of tools and datasets across ICIP functions. Contribute to the development of UNRWA's geo-spatial portal by providing feedback and technical inputs.
• Technical and Analytical Support: Enhance data structures and reporting tools to improve data quality and usability. Develop information products such as dashboards and reporting templates. Support FMIS-related reporting and project tracking. Provide analytical inputs for assessments and planning processes. Promote data standards and quality assurance measures.
• Coordination and User Support: Coordinate with various departments and Field Offices to strengthen reporting flows and clarify roles. Provide technical support for effective use of reporting tools and templates. Prepare tailored information products for management and stakeholders. Document workflows and provide guidance to staff on information management practices.
• Other Related Duties: Perform additional duties as required to support ICID’s information management and data ecosystem.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the UN Information Management Consultant position include:

• An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information management, statistics, data science, computer science, GIS, engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in data management, data analysis, information technology, GIS, or related fields.
• At least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and outside the country of nationality.
• Knowledge of responsible data practices, including data protection and appropriate data-sharing.
• Demonstrated experience in developing dashboards and reporting tools for operational use.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as information management, statistics, data science, computer science, GIS, engineering, or other relevant disciplines. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of data management and analysis required for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in areas such as data management, data analysis, information technology, GIS, or related fields. Additionally, candidates must have at least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and their country of nationality, which is crucial for understanding the global context of the work.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is an excellent command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is considered desirable, as it may facilitate communication and understanding within the regional context.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for 12 months and is equivalent to the P-3 level within the UN system. The monthly remuneration for this position is USD 8,057.67, inclusive of all allowances. The position is based at the ICID-UNRWA Headquarters in Amman, Jordan.
