Job Overview:
The HR Intern position at UNHCR Korea is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience in the field of private sector fundraising. The intern will be integrated into the OPS Support unit of the Private Sector Partnership (PSP) Team, where they will engage in various HR, finance, and administrative tasks. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in fundraising support and to understand the operational aspects of a major international organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties and responsibilities will vary based on the fundraising priorities during the internship. Key responsibilities include:
  • Human Resource Tasks Support: a) Assisting in the recruitment process by uploading job advertisements on various online platforms, communicating with candidates to schedule interviews, and coordinating logistics for recruitment. b) Supporting the onboarding and offboarding processes for staff members, including preparing documentation and arranging induction programs.
  • Finance and Administrative Support: a) Assisting with payment documentation, uploading relevant documents to MS Teams, and updating payment folders. b) Supporting travel arrangements for staff members and providing basic IT administrative services. c) Performing general administrative tasks as needed.
  • Additional Tasks: a) Conducting research related to HR, finance, and administrative matters. b) Supporting compensation survey projects and providing logistical support as required. c) Completing any other tasks assigned by supervisors that fall within the scope of the internship.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • Be a recent graduate (having completed their studies within the last two years) or a current student in a graduate or undergraduate program at an accredited university or higher education institution recognized by IAU/UNESCO.
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a relevant field related to UNHCR's work. Additionally, desirable qualifications include strong written and spoken communication skills in both Korean and English, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and a solid understanding of UNHCR's mission and humanitarian issues.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant to the work of UNHCR. This could include areas such as international relations, humanitarian studies, social sciences, or business administration. Recent graduates or current students from accredited institutions are encouraged to apply, as the internship is designed to provide practical experience that complements academic learning.

Experience:
The internship is open to individuals who are either recent graduates or current students, meaning that formal work experience is not a prerequisite. However, any prior experience in HR, finance, or administrative roles, whether through internships, volunteer work, or part-time jobs, would be beneficial and viewed favorably. The focus is on providing a learning opportunity rather than requiring extensive prior experience.

Languages:
The mandatory languages for this position are Korean and English, with strong written and spoken communication skills required in both languages. Additional Notes:
This is a full-time internship position with working hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Interns who do not receive financial support from an external source will receive an allowance to help cover food, local transportation, and living expenses. The internship is based in Seoul, South Korea, and does not require functional clearance. This position is not remote and is intended for individuals who can work on-site.
