Job Overview: The Human Resources Assistant will play a crucial role in managing the resources management functions within the IOM office in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Duties and Responsibilities:
Support recruitment processes by coordinating the publication of Vacancy Notices, sorting applications, arranging interviews and tests, and preparing documentation.
Carry out pre-employment activities, including preparation of Entry on Duty documentation, coordination of medical exams, and orientation sessions.
Perform assigned roles in the HR system, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
Act as Timekeeper, maintaining and reconciling leave quotas and generating leave-related reports.
Support separation, classification, reclassification, and promotion processes by collecting documentation and coordinating with relevant units.
Update and maintain electronic and physical archiving systems, including personnel and recruitment files.
Draft certificates of employment, notices, letters, and reports.
Organize meetings and training activities, handling logistical arrangements.
Respond to general inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. 1
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Attention to detail and ability to organize paperwork methodically.
Discreet, detail-oriented, client-focused, patient, and willing to learn.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a High School diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or Psychology, along with two years of professional experience in a related area.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, or four years of experience with a High School diploma. Experience in international humanitarian organizations or government institutions is preferred, particularly in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, and familiarity with the Wave system is a distinct advantage.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. A working knowledge of English is desirable, as IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish.
