Job Overview:
The Communications Assistant - Brand and Design will play a crucial role in enhancing the communications activities of the UNOPS Multi-Country Office in Honduras. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and creativity to support a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. The assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all visual materials produced align with UNOPS's branding guidelines and contribute to the organization's reputation for transparency and efficiency. The role is primarily focused on visual communication and institutional coherence, adapting international branding standards to local contexts. The assistant will also be involved in producing graphic and audiovisual materials for various projects, ensuring they meet the required quality and branding standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Senior Partnerships Officer, the Communications Assistant will support the following activities:
  • Assist in the production of graphic materials following UNOPS branding guidelines.
  • Support pre and post-production of audiovisual materials for various projects and the office.
  • Provide assistance in creating graphic materials and layouts for campaigns, informational materials, and project identities.
  • Prepare materials for printing and coordinate technical requirements with selected suppliers.
  • Ensure quality control of products developed according to UNOPS branding guidelines.
  • Address communication audiovisual issues creatively and responsibly, meeting deadlines.
  • Assist in structuring scripts, messages, and video shot selection for internal and external communications.
  • Support the production and post-production of corporate, institutional, and informational videos.
  • Help develop animated video capsules for external and internal communication. 1
  • Adapt materials for various digital formats suitable for sharing on social media platforms. 1
  • Assist in scheduling and programming the dissemination of produced materials. 1
  • Support the Senior Partnerships Officer with other related activities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in design and audiovisual communication, or less depending on academic qualifications.
  • Experience in audiovisual production for external, internal, and social media communication.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or similar software.
  • Experience in graphic design and 2D animated video production is desirable.
  • Submission of work portfolios or examples of completed projects is required.

Educational Background:
  • A secondary school diploma is required.
  • A university degree (bachelor's) in graphic design, communication, audiovisual communication, or related fields is desirable and may substitute for required years of experience.
  • A technical diploma is also desirable and may replace required years of experience (technical diploma + 2 years of experience).

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in design and audiovisual communication. However, this requirement may be reduced based on the academic qualifications presented. Experience in producing audiovisual content for various communication channels is essential, along with proficiency in relevant software such as Adobe Premiere.

Languages:
  • Spanish: Native proficiency is required.
  • English: Intermediate proficiency is desirable.

Additional Notes:
The position is home-based but may require occasional visits to the office or missions as requested by the Senior Partnerships Officer or team. The contract is initially for one year, subject to renewal based on organizational requirements, budget availability, and satisfactory performance.
