Job Overview:
The Immunization Officer position at UNICEF Philippines is crucial for supporting the Department of Health (DOH) and local health authorities in enhancing immunization coverage. The role involves technical assistance in policy improvement, micro-planning, supply chain management, and demand generation. The officer will be responsible for the professional technical contribution to project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of immunization program activities. This includes data analysis, program support, progress reporting, and commitment to expanding immunization coverage. The officer will work under the supervision of the Immunization Specialist and collaborate closely with the child health team, SBC and T4D teams, WHO, and other partners to operationalize strategies for better immunization outcomes. The position is integral to achieving the objectives of the work plan aligned with the country program goals and strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Immunization Officer will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including:

• Supporting program development, planning, and review processes to ensure effective monitoring and delivery of results.
• Engaging in upstream and downstream activities related to immunization programs.
• Conducting monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on immunization initiatives.
• Building partnerships and leveraging resources to enhance program effectiveness.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of immunization strategies.
• Analyzing data to inform decision-making and improve program outcomes.
• Providing technical assistance and capacity building to partners at both national and subnational levels.
• Ensuring compliance with UNICEF's standards and principles in all activities.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Immunization Officer position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Health, Global/International Health, Health Policy and Management, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field relevant to international public health development assistance. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of relevant work experience in areas such as Health, Public Health, International Health, Immunization, Health development program management, Health policy and management, Health Research, Knowledge management, or Epidemiology. Candidates must demonstrate skills in program and project planning, implementation management, multi-stakeholder coordination, technical assistance delivery, and evidence-based decision-making. Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build partnerships and influence decision-making.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in fields such as Public Health, Health, Global/International Health, Health Policy and Management, Medicine, Nursing, or other related areas that support international public health development assistance. A postgraduate degree in Public Health is considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in health-related fields, particularly in immunization and health program management. Experience working at both national and local levels on immunization programming is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the Philippine Health Care delivery system and the role of the DOH and LGUs in implementing the National Immunization Program. Experience in health systems strengthening approaches and advocacy and policy development is also beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Tagalog (Filipino) is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for the role.
