Job Overview:
The Associate, Gender and Economic Inclusion (G&EI) will be an integral member of the G&EI team, which is dedicated to enhancing gender equality and economic inclusion across the EBRD's operations. This role involves contributing to the development of key G&EI products and processes, advising on the transition impact and gender additionality of projects, and engaging in policy dialogue activities. The Associate will work closely with senior management and various stakeholders, demonstrating initiative and leadership in project engagements. The position requires a strong understanding of gender and inclusion issues, as well as the ability to conduct relevant analyses and contribute to strategic initiatives that promote equality of opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will support the design and implementation of inclusive transition initiatives and related projects, engaging with banking project teams and contributing to policy reform progress in the assigned sectors. Responsibilities include conducting country diagnostics, contributing to sector strategies, providing input into policy dialogue activities, and performing ad hoc assignments such as background research and drafting policy notes. The Associate will also manage and monitor technical cooperation projects, ensuring effective tracking and reporting of results. The role requires collaboration with various teams within the EBRD, including the Impact and Climate Strategy Delivery teams, to achieve the Bank's transition mandate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in economics, international development, gender studies, or a related field. They should have demonstrated expertise in policy or development related to gender and inclusion, with prior work experience in relevant sectors such as financial institutions, government, consultancy, or academia. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, along with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with statistical data sources. Excellent communication skills in both English and Ukrainian are mandatory, and interpersonal skills are crucial for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as economics, international development, or gender studies is required for this position. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in the principles of economic development, gender equality, and policy analysis, equipping the candidate with the necessary skills to contribute effectively to the EBRD's mission.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior work experience in policy-oriented or development roles, ideally within financial institutions, governmental organizations, or consultancy firms. Experience in gender and inclusion initiatives, as well as familiarity with the EBRD's operational regions, will be advantageous. The role requires a demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders and contribute to strategic initiatives, making relevant experience critical for success in this position.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, along with excellent written and oral communication skills in Ukrainian. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the EBRD's operational regions is considered an advantage, as it enhances the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the Bank's inclusive approach.

Additional Notes:
This position is a regular contract role based in Kyiv, Ukraine, with the possibility of temporary relocation to Warsaw, Poland, depending on business needs. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
