Job Overview:
The Project and Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the ILO's project aimed at promoting inclusive labor market governance reform in Ukraine. This position is integral to the successful implementation and delivery of project outcomes, which are aligned with the ILO's Transitional Cooperation Strategy for Ukraine for 2024–202
  • The assistant will be responsible for various administrative and financial tasks, ensuring smooth project operations and compliance with ILO regulations. The role requires collaboration with project staff and other stakeholders to facilitate effective project management and reporting. The assistant will also be involved in organizing meetings, workshops, and field missions, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project and Finance Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: ensuring smooth project administration and office management; processing entitlements and issuing contracts; maintaining records and files; advising project staff on administrative rules and procedures; making travel arrangements and preparing travel authorizations; compiling socioeconomic data and drafting reports; organizing data for project monitoring and evaluation; preparing meeting minutes and translating documents; liaising with administrative focal points; maintaining budget records; checking expenditures against budget lines; preparing background information for program discussions; coordinating administrative arrangements for workshops and seminars; providing interpretation services; drafting communication notes; and performing additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education, supplemented by technical or university-level courses relevant to the organization's work. Specialized training in a related field and previous experience with UN projects will be advantageous. The role requires a solid understanding of financial and administrative rules and procedures, as well as good organizational skills to support project programming. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ethical conduct and possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English and Ukrainian.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes completion of secondary school education, along with additional technical or university-level courses that are relevant to the work of the ILO. Specialized training in fields pertinent to the organization's operations is preferred, and prior experience in UN settings will be considered a significant advantage.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least six years of progressively responsible experience in finance and/or administrative roles, with a minimum of one year in program support activities. Experience in similar positions within UN or ILO projects will be highly regarded, as it demonstrates familiarity with the organization's operational context and requirements.

Languages:
Proficiency in both Ukrainian and English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages. This bilingual capability is essential for effective collaboration and reporting within the project framework.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and performance.
