Job Overview:
The Disability Inclusion National Support Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UNRWA's Disability Policy and Disability Inclusion Guidelines. This position requires a full-time commitment at the UNRWA HQ in Amman, with working hours from 08:00 to 16:0

• The consultant will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to ensure that disability inclusion is integrated across various program areas, including education, health, and protection services. The role also involves collaborating with different departments and field offices to enhance the effectiveness of disability inclusion initiatives and to respond to emerging priorities. The expected duration of the consultancy is four months, from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Disability Inclusion National Support Officer include: A. Technical Support and Protection Mainstreaming: - Supporting the implementation of UNRWA's Disability Policy and Guidelines. - Assisting in the development and updating of technical guidance and operational tools. - Providing technical inputs for design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and project proposals. - Ensuring disability inclusion standards are reflected in program documents. B. Protection Programming: - Designing and implementing protection initiatives for Palestine refugees with disabilities. - Developing guidance on disability-inclusive case management and accessibility. - Monitoring disability inclusion commitments across UNRWA programs. C. Coordination and Partnerships: - Coordinating disability inclusion activities across departments and field offices. - Organizing meetings and supporting engagement with external partners. D. Knowledge Management and Capacity Development: - Conducting research on disability inclusion practices. - Preparing policy briefs and training materials. E. Operational and Administrative Support: - Planning and tracking workplans, preparing meeting agendas, and maintaining documentation.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Disability Inclusion National Support Officer position include: - An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Disability Studies, International Development, Human Rights, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Rehabilitation, Education, or Public Health. - A minimum of six years of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian action, international development, protection, and disability inclusion. - Demonstrated experience in supporting disability-inclusive programming and working with UN agencies or NGOs. - Experience in project coordination, technical reporting, and developing guidance documents and training materials is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in fields related to disability studies, international development, human rights, public policy, social sciences, rehabilitation, education, or public health. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of disability inclusion and the various factors that affect the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas such as humanitarian action, international development, protection, and disability inclusion. Candidates should have a proven track record of supporting disability-inclusive programming and experience working with UN agencies, international organizations, or NGOs. Experience in project coordination and technical reporting is also necessary, along with the ability to develop guidance documents and training materials.

Languages:
The mandatory languages for this position are excellent written and spoken English and Arabic. Proficiency in both languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with external partners.

Additional Notes:
The consultant will receive a lump sum payment of JOD 4,626.40, divided into four installments based on the satisfactory submission of deliverables. The remuneration for this consultancy is classified under G17, and it will depend on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
