Job Overview:
The position of Local Consultant on Anti-Corruption Education involves revising and updating educational materials related to anti-corruption for primary and secondary education levels. The consultant will work closely with UNODC staff to enhance the pedagogical aspects of these materials, ensuring they effectively promote anti-corruption education. The role includes delivering training sessions for UNODC staff and conducting workshops for educators in Togo, focusing on child-centered pedagogical approaches and the integration of anti-corruption content into educational frameworks. The consultant will also be responsible for preparing training reports and ensuring that all materials are aligned with UNODC's educational resources and methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Revise existing lesson plans for primary education to strengthen the anti-corruption angle and update the training manual accordingly.
• Harmonize manuals for secondary education and non-formal education sectors, ensuring they reflect the latest pedagogical approaches.
• Conduct two virtual training sessions for UNODC staff on child-centered pedagogical approaches and behavioral change methodologies.
• Prepare and deliver a 3-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop for secondary educators and relevant stakeholders in Togo, utilizing the existing GRACE training package.
• Develop agendas, tailor training tools, and create monitoring tools for the workshops.
• Conduct a debrief with national counterparts and prepare a short training report summarizing outcomes and assessments.
• Ensure all expertise provided is documented and sources are clearly indicated, adhering to UNODC's standards regarding plagiarism and the use of artificial intelligence.

Required Qualifications:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in pedagogy, education, social science, or humanities is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in similar fields combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. Candidates must have at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in primary, secondary, or non-formal education, including teaching, student support, or management. Experience in developing educational materials for these levels is essential, as is experience in teaching topics related to civic education, anti-corruption, integrity, ethics, and law. Familiarity with UNODC’s resources and previous experience with the United Nations is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as pedagogy, education, social science, or humanities. A first-level university degree in similar fields, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may also be acceptable. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of anti-corruption education and the pedagogical approaches necessary for effective teaching.

Experience:
The position requires at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in the field of education, specifically in primary, secondary, or non-formal education. Candidates should have a strong background in teaching, student support, or educational management. Experience in developing educational materials and conducting assessments of the national education sector is highly desirable. Previous work experience in West or Central African countries is also preferred, as it provides valuable context for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is required for this position, as English is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French is also essential, as it is another working language of the UN. Familiarity with additional official United Nations languages is considered an advantage, enhancing communication and collaboration within the international context of the role.
