Job Overview: The Local Individual Contractor for ICT Support Service will play a crucial role in providing technical support and training to users within the organization. This position involves responding to user inquiries regarding network access, installing software, and ensuring that all hardware and software are functioning effectively. The contractor will also be responsible for maintaining an inventory of ICT assets and providing support during key events. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting network issues and ensuring compliance with corporate standards for information management and technology. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Local Individual Contractor include:
Providing IT equipment setup and support during workshops, conferences, meetings, and seminars.
Ensuring compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Installing, operating, and maintaining all UNODC hardware equipment and acquiring necessary hardware supplies.
Performing specific technical functions, including changing hardware components and conducting routine repairs.
Installing commercial and in-house developed software, including upgrades and anti-virus programs, in a timely manner.
Monitoring the network connection daily to ensure a stable and responsive environment.
Troubleshooting network problems and ensuring protection against malicious attacks.
Responding to user needs and questions regarding network access.
Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of software and hardware. 1
Collaborating with Asset Management Teams to maintain inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts. 1
Providing ICT support for key events and participating in training organization for CO staff on ICT issues.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a high school diploma as a minimum educational qualification. Additionally, certifications in ITIL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office, Networking, Cisco, and other relevant areas are desirable. Candidates should have at least one year of professional experience in providing first-line user support, both in person and remotely. This includes installing and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and standard office applications, as well as performing daily network monitoring. Experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues, applying security updates, maintaining ICT assets, and providing setup support for meetings and workshops is essential. Prior exposure to UN procedures or other international organizations is considered a strong asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma. Additional certifications in relevant IT fields such as ITIL, Microsoft Azure, and Cisco are highly desirable and will enhance the candidate's profile for this position.
Experience: A minimum of one year of professional experience is required for this position. This experience should include providing first-line user support, installing and maintaining IT equipment, and performing daily network monitoring. Candidates should also have experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues and maintaining ICT assets and inventories.
