Job Overview:
The ICT Support in IT Network Maintenance and Upgrade Works position is an internship role within the Digital and Information Technology Management Section (DITMS) at the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of DITMS and receive day-to-day guidance from the Network Technology Team Leader. The primary function of this role is to provide technical and operational support to the Administration, Conference Management Division (ACMD). The intern will engage in various projects that involve upgrading network infrastructure, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and supporting general ICT activities. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in the field of information technology, particularly in network management and maintenance, while contributing to the overall mission of ECA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of duties including:

• Supporting LAN & WLAN Upgrade Works by providing technical assistance for the installation, configuration, and testing of new wireless access points and LAN equipment. The intern will also assist in upgrading existing network infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance.
• Assisting with Network Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Monitoring by diagnosing connectivity issues, supporting firewall rule maintenance, documenting security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security risks, and monitoring network performance using diagnostic tools.
• Engaging in other activities as needed, which may include providing general ICT support for various projects, assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, participating in team meetings, and supporting asset management tasks. The intern's daily responsibilities will vary based on their background and the specific projects they are assigned to during the internship period.

Required Qualifications:
