Job Overview: The position of Responsable d'atelier Liimba involves overseeing the technical, operational, and organizational management of the workshop dedicated to the recycling of prostheses. The individual in this role will ensure the quality of the recycling processes, the overall performance of the workshop, and actively contribute to the structuring and development of the Liimba activity, which serves HI's humanitarian programs. The workshop primarily operates with the help of volunteers who disassemble used prostheses, extract usable components, clean them, and prepare them for shipment to partner rehabilitation centers serving vulnerable populations in Africa and Asia. This role is crucial in equipping beneficiaries who cannot afford prosthetic devices, thereby enhancing their quality of life and dignity.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Responsable d'atelier include:
Operational Management of the Workshop: Organizing and coordinating daily activities, supervising volunteers, ensuring proper task distribution, maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety, and planning short- and medium-term activities.
Quality Assurance: Enforcing HI's defined recycling processes, implementing hygiene and safety standards, conducting initial sorting of recyclable donations, ensuring quality control of reusable prosthetic components, and contributing to continuous improvement of recycling processes.
Logistics: Preparing orders for components, organizing and maintaining stock, updating stock records, participating in annual inventory, ensuring equipment functionality, coordinating incoming and outgoing flows, and identifying needs for consumables and materials.
Continuous Improvement: Actively contributing to the enhancement of processes, organization, and tools within the workshop, and proposing optimization strategies.
Team Coordination: Leading work sessions with volunteers, fostering teamwork and collaboration, sharing best practices, and creating a dynamic team environment.
Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking activity indicators, contributing to project reporting, participating in activity planning, and identifying workshop evolution needs.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include: - A BTS in Orthoprothesis or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanics and Industry. - Experience in operational team management (volunteers or technicians). - Background in workshop management, production, or technical environments, preferably in orthopedic prosthetics or medical devices. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Proficiency in English is considered an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a BTS in Orthoprothesis or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanics and Industry. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical aspects of prosthetic devices and their recycling processes.
Experience: The position requires experience in managing a workshop, production, or a technical environment, ideally within the orthopedic prosthetics or medical devices sector. Candidates should have a proven track record of operational team management, particularly in volunteer settings.
Languages: Proficiency in French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of English is considered a valuable asset, enhancing communication within the international context of the organization.
Additional Notes: The position is a fixed-term contract (CDD) for 12 months, part-time (60%), starting from July 2026, with the possibility of renewal.
