Job Overview:
The Junior Operations Officer will provide support to the Operations Officers in managing funding contracts, monitoring internal tools, and liaising with other departments at the headquarters. The role involves assisting in the control and production of reliable deliverables, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines, and contributing to the timely submission of reports and proposals. The officer will also be responsible for updating internal tracking tools and preparing operational technical support presentations. This position is crucial for maintaining the coordination of the Geographic Direction with National Associations within the Handicap International network, particularly in writing and submitting projects and reports according to the defined timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist Operations Officers in ensuring the production of adequate and reliable deliverables, including compliance with donor guidelines for reports and project proposals.
  • Participate in maintaining internal schedules and deadlines, contributing to the monitoring of HI's deadlines and those of donors.
  • Consolidate operational, technical, administrative, and financial inputs for proposals and reports, ensuring quality control of documents.
  • Support the Geographic Director in monitoring internal control tools and preparing operational technical support presentations.
  • Update key operational staff briefing presentations and co-facilitate briefings as needed.
  • Ensure coordination with National Associations regarding project/report writing and submission.
  • Assist in the evolution of STRATOp processes and ensure compliance with internal funding rules.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in humanitarian project management, preferably at an international level. They should possess a solid understanding of project engineering and the project cycle, including financial and budgetary planning, organization, implementation, and reporting. Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams across various sectors is essential. Familiarity with donor mechanisms and institutional funding actors in humanitarian aid is also required.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in humanitarian studies, project management, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the principles and practices of humanitarian work and project management.

Experience:
The position requires at least 1 year of experience in humanitarian project management, ideally within an international context. Candidates should have experience working in diverse teams and managing projects that involve multiple stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months. The position offers employee status with 25 vacation days and 22.5 RTT days annually, along with a flexible work environment that includes a telework charter.
