Job Overview:
The Consultant for ATHIS Training Facilitation will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the project aimed at enhancing the capacity of professionals involved in social housing. This position requires close collaboration with UN-Habitat’s operational and technical teams to develop training plans and materials tailored to different target audiences, including municipal professionals, civil society organizations, and architecture professionals. The consultant will be responsible for delivering training sessions that emphasize practical learning and field-based activities, ensuring that participants gain the necessary skills to bridge the gap between policy and practice in social housing. The role also involves providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation strategies, facilitating knowledge exchange, and preparing comprehensive reports on training activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: 1) Supporting the development of training plans based on capacity needs assessments; 2) Creating training materials for three distinct modules targeting different professional groups; 3) Conducting training sessions that prioritize hands-on learning; 4) Collaborating with UN-Habitat experts to develop a participatory Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy; 5) Delivering virtual capacity-building sessions; 6) Assisting in the creation of a methodology handbook for Monitoring and Evaluation tools; 7) Conducting collaborative training with CAU/SP professionals; 8) Designing assessment mechanisms to evaluate participants' learning outcomes; 9) Preparing detailed reports documenting training activities; and 10) Participating in field missions as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism or have three additional years of relevant experience. A postgraduate degree in related fields such as Geography, Sociology, or Public Policy is desirable. The consultant should have a minimum of three years of experience in urban development or social housing, with a strong background in capacity building and teaching. Experience with South-South Cooperation and previous work with the United Nations is also preferred. Proficiency in computer skills, project management methodologies, and online event tools is essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism is required for this position. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in relevant fields such as Geography, Sociology, Law, or Public Policy will be given preference. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in urban planning and social sciences, equipping the consultant with the necessary knowledge to effectively contribute to the project.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in urban development and/or social housing, specifically within Brazil. Candidates should have experience in capacity building programs and teaching, as well as familiarity with social housing initiatives. Experience in coordinating fieldwork, particularly in the public sector, is desirable, along with any previous experience working with the United Nations.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication. A working knowledge of English is desirable, given that English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Proficiency in Spanish is also beneficial, particularly for collaboration with the Regional Office.

Additional Notes:
This is a part-time position (48%) with a total remuneration of BRL 15,00

The contract is local, and only Brazilian nationals or those with a permanent visa in Brazil may apply. The contract's extension is contingent upon funding availability and performance.
