Job Overview:
The Research Assistant (RA) position at IFPRI's Beijing Office is designed for a qualified candidate to support the IFPRI China Program through research, capacity strengthening, and communications. The RA will work closely with the IFPRI China Program Leader and will be involved in various research activities aimed at enhancing agricultural and rural development in China. Duties and Responsibilities:
The RA will be responsible for a range of tasks including data collection, maintenance, and analysis using statistical software. Specific duties include conducting literature reviews, assisting in the preparation of background papers, discussion papers, project research reports, donor reports, policy briefs, and briefing notes for dissemination. The RA will also support senior researchers in executing research projects funded by various sources, assist in the internal and external communication of research activities and outputs, and help implement capacity strengthening activities such as workshops, seminars, and conferences. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, reflecting the dynamic nature of the research environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Economic Development, Agricultural Economics, or a related field. They should have experience in preparing research reports for research teams and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with knowledge of Access. Strong writing skills in both Chinese and English are essential, as well as self-motivation, an innovative spirit, and excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver completed products on time is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Economic Development, Agricultural Economics, or a related field is mandatory for this position.
