Job Overview:

The intern will be involved in various activities that support the UN's outreach efforts in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The intern will work under the supervision of a staff member and is expected to contribute to the planning and execution of communication campaigns, assist in research, and document outreach activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's daily responsibilities will vary based on their background, the assigned office, and the internship period. Key duties may include:
  • Assisting in the content planning and development of inter-agency campaigns, including creating social media editorial plans and writing/editing communication materials.
  • Supporting the amplification of UNIC/UN outreach campaigns targeting grassroots youth networks and other key demographics.
  • Conducting research and preparing concept notes and documents for UNIC-led communication activities.
  • Documenting communications and outreach activities, including key events and participant numbers for internal records.
  • Performing other related duties as required by the supervising staff member.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: a) Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, applicants must demonstrate computer literacy in standard software applications, a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. While professional experience is not required, having interests, skills, and knowledge in relevant areas such as international affairs, management, and communication is beneficial.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master's or Ph.D. program. A field of study closely related to the internship is required, ensuring that candidates have the necessary academic background to contribute effectively to the UNIC's work.

Experience:
While candidates for the internship positions are not required to have prior professional work experience, having relevant interests or skills in areas such as international relations, communication, or public outreach can be advantageous. Languages:
Fluency in Bahasa or Indonesian and English is mandatory for the internship.
