Job Overview: The Senior Meetings Services Assistant position is integral to the Meetings Management Unit within the Planning and coordination-section" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Coordination Section of the Division of Conference Services at UNON. This role involves a range of responsibilities focused on the planning and servicing of meetings and conferences. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Meetings Management Unit, ensuring that all logistical arrangements are made for the efficient conduct of meetings. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to lead projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of conference services. The Senior Meetings Services Assistant will also be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including senior officers and host countries, to ensure that all requirements for meetings are met and that services are delivered effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Meetings Services Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: reviewing resolutions and decisions from intergovernmental meetings to prepare draft calendars of conferences; advising secretariats on conference servicing requirements; preparing preliminary cost estimates for events; ensuring all logistical arrangements are in place for meetings; supervising staff in the meeting room; coordinating with delegations and responding to their queries; preparing seating arrangements and maintaining attendance records; and performing other related duties as required. The role demands a high level of professionalism and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring that all meetings are conducted smoothly and in accordance with UN protocols.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in conference services or related fields being desirable.
