Job Overview: The HR Business Partner role at Viya Health is designed to provide essential support in achieving the organizational objectives of the company. This position is integral to the team, focusing on operational support related to the employee life cycle within Viya Health East Africa. The HR Business Partner will partner with the business to ensure that all HR services, including yearly HR processes, talent development, recruitment, and employee relations, are executed with a continuous improvement mindset while maintaining a human touch. The role requires aligning HR efforts with specific business needs, which may include organization assessment and design, team efficiency, and addressing people issues. The HR Business Partner will manage and implement Viya Health’s HR policies, procedures, guidelines, and tools, overseeing the selection and hiring of the team in East Africa and leading overall HR functions such as workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Business Partner will be responsible for a variety of key responsibilities, including: Implementing the HR strategy for Viya Health in alignment with organizational goals, devising and implementing necessary metrics, consulting and advising management on HR solutions, participating in workforce planning and job evaluation, overseeing the full-cycle recruitment process, coordinating recruitment and orientation processes, ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing HR-related administrative duties, facilitating staff benefits and compensation administration, leading the performance management process, managing employee relations and disciplinary procedures, and identifying areas for continuous improvement. The role also involves maintaining effective negotiation processes and fostering harmonious employee/employer relationships, as well as representing employees in legal matters when necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or an equivalent field. A minimum of five years of experience in a senior HR role is required, with at least two years at a supervisory level. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. Advanced knowledge of human resource disciplines, including employee development, change management, recruitment, branding, compensation practices, employee relations, compliance, and performance management is essential. Strong decision-making skills, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in MS Office Suite are also required. Candidates should have hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems, as well as knowledge of labor regulations and industry trends.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field. Additional certifications in HR practices or related areas may be beneficial and enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The position requires at least five years of experience in a senior HR role, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing HR functions and processes, demonstrating the ability to operate independently and drive change within an organization.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the East African region may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse employee groups.
