Job Overview:
The Supply and logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager position at UNICEF is a critical role that reports directly to the Deputy Representative (Operations). The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the supply chains of the country office and oversee emergency response operations. This includes a comprehensive range of supply chain operations such as planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution. The Supply and Logistics Manager is expected to monitor supplies, services, and construction works while collaborating closely with various programs to define supply interventions that meet programmatic needs and achieve positive outcomes for children. The role also involves providing technical and advisory support to governments, national systems, and partners on effective supply chain management, ensuring that UNICEF's mission to support children and communities is fulfilled efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Supply and Logistics Manager include:
  • Management of the Supply Section: Overseeing the supply chain operations, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective in meeting the needs of the organization and the communities it serves.
  • Supply Chain Service Delivery: Ensuring timely and effective delivery of supplies and services to support programmatic needs and emergency responses.
  • Collaboration with Programme and Implementing Partners: Working closely with various stakeholders to align supply chain strategies with programmatic objectives and enhance overall service delivery.
  • Technical and Advisory Support: Providing expert guidance to government and national systems on best practices in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics.
  • Innovation, Products, and Markets: Identifying opportunities for innovation in supply chain processes and exploring new products and markets to enhance service delivery and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the position of Supply and Logistics Manager, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Education: An advanced university degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health, or a related social science field is required. Alternatively, a relevant first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in conjunction with a valid professional certification is acceptable.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience at both national and international levels in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration, or other directly related technical fields is required. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of development and humanitarian work.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Procurement, Planning, Negotiation Skills, and Risk Management is essential for this role.

Educational Background:
Candidates applying for the Supply and Logistics Manager position must possess an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, Health, or a related social science discipline. Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, with candidates expected to demonstrate fluent communication skills. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language (such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
