Job Overview: The Programme Analyst, Quality Assurance plays a crucial role in ensuring that UNFPA's programs align with strategic priorities and adhere to established quality standards. This position involves supporting results planning, monitoring, and reporting, as well as contributing to the development of guidelines and tools for program development and approval processes. The incumbent will prepare substantive analyses for global quality assurance exercises and facilitate communication between stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing organizational policies and tools, particularly those that enhance quality programming and ensure responsiveness to field needs. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Analyst, Quality Assurance include:
Developing, revising, and implementing organizational policies, procedures, guidelines, and tools to support results planning, monitoring, and reporting.
Providing analysis and substantive inputs for the development of guidelines and standards related to quality programming.
Supporting the facilitation and coordination of corporate Strategic Dialogues and theory of change processes.
Planning and delivering quality assurance exercises, including coordinating analytical and correspondence work.
Producing evidence-based analyses, briefs, and presentations on quality programming dimensions and trends.
Coordinating and producing key communications products on quality programming, including maintaining a corporate country programme document database.
Collaborating with other UNFPA offices on key programming issues to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's or higher) in fields such as international relations, social sciences, international development, information management, data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, demography, sociology, political science, development studies, public health, public policy, gender, law, or human rights. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to the principles of the United Nations and possess excellent communication and writing skills for preparing analytical reports and presentations.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master's or higher) is required, preferably in relevant fields such as international relations, social sciences, international development, or related disciplines. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of global development issues and the operational frameworks of UNFPA.
Experience: Candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience in international development, public health, or related fields. Prior experience at the regional or country level is considered an asset. Experience in data management, statistical analysis, and quality assurance is crucial, along with demonstrable expertise in qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Familiarity with AI and digital solutions, as well as monitoring and evaluation, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another official United Nations language is considered an added advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse international environment.
