Job Overview:
The Backend Developer Consultant position is designed to implement a set of high-priority enhancements for the Global Events Management System (GEMS) and the Management Information Database (MIND) within a three-month timeframe. The consultant will focus on improving registration data quality and privacy, enhancing role and permission settings, and implementing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security controls for on-site operations. The role requires collaboration with the Chief of the Events Unit and technical coordination with the Senior Digital Innovation Lead and Infrastructure Engineer. The consultant will be responsible for developing various functionalities, including a consent workflow for online registration, a self-service data deletion request system, and multi-language accessibility features. The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that critical enhancements are delivered in parallel with ongoing consultancy work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: building a chaperone consent workflow for online registration, creating a self-service data deletion request system, and implementing security measures for on-site operations. Specific responsibilities include developing a unique login system for operators, creating alerts for suspicious access patterns, and generating daily activity reports. The consultant will also work on enhancing the registration process by adding multi-language support and accessibility features. Additionally, the role involves creating various reports, managing event workflows, and ensuring the integration of Urban October events into the GEMS system. The consultant will be expected to align forms and fields according to specifications and ensure code consistency across platforms.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree, such as a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in full-stack web development is required. Technical proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and relational databases (e.g., MySQL/MSSQL) is essential. Experience with Git version control and implementing form validation, role-based access control, and reporting features in production web applications is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment are also important.

Educational Background:
The position requires a first-level university degree, specifically a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or Engineering.
