Job Overview:
The Digital Media Intern position at AIRCOM offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced international environment. The intern will work within the Public Affairs Office of the Strategic Communications Division, focusing on the planning, production, and distribution of digital content across various platforms. This role is vital in supporting AIRCOM's mission to communicate effectively with both internal and external audiences. The intern will engage in drafting social media content, assessing social media trends, and developing informative materials such as fact sheets and infographics. Additionally, the intern will support community relations events and liaise with other Public Affairs Offices, enhancing their understanding of strategic communications within a multinational context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Media Intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: drafting engaging social media content and narratives for both internal and external audiences; assessing current social media trends and their implications for public media; developing content such as fact sheets and infographics to support communication efforts; assisting in the organization and execution of community relations events, press conferences, and media activities; maintaining routine engagements with Allied and Partner nation Public Affairs Offices; and supporting the overall strategic communications objectives of AIRCOM. The intern will also be expected to monitor audience engagement and analytics to inform future content strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements: they must be citizens of a NATO member nation; possess advanced English language skills; and be current students who have completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree, or recent graduates who obtained their degree within the last 18 months in relevant fields such as broadcast journalism, public affairs, media and communication studies, digital media, or marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing. Additionally, candidates should have familiarity with major social media platforms and digital publishing workflows, as well as an understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools. Adaptability in a digital news or communication environment and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting are also essential.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in a relevant field such as broadcast journalism, public affairs, media and communication studies, digital media, or digital marketing. Candidates must have successfully completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree or have graduated within the last 18 months to be eligible for this internship.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate familiarity with social media platforms and digital publishing workflows. Understanding social media analytics and reporting tools is crucial, as is the ability to adapt to a fast-paced digital news or communication environment. Experience in collaborative teamwork will be beneficial for success in this role.

Additional Notes:
The internship at AIRCOM is set for a duration of six months, during which interns will receive a monthly stipend of €1,452 Euro, based on the 2026 pay scale. Interns are responsible for declaring this income to the relevant tax authorities and may also receive additional financial support from scholarships or grants. It is important to note that interns must arrange their own travel, accommodation, and living expenses. Furthermore, interns are required to have their own social insurance coverage, including healthcare, upon joining AIRCOM. Participation in the internship is contingent upon obtaining NATO security clearance from the intern's national authorities, which can take an average of six months or longer.
