Job Overview:
The internship at the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO) is designed for motivated individuals who are eager to support the UN's mission in sustainable development. Interns will engage in various tasks that contribute to the work of the DCO, which serves as the secretariat to the UNSDG. The role involves collaboration with Resident Coordinators, who are the highest-ranking UN representatives at the country level. Interns will have the opportunity to work within different sections of the DCO, focusing on either strategic planning and data analytics or policy analysis and programme facilitation. The internship is full-time, typically lasting between three to six months, and can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate. Interns will report to professional staff and may work in-person, remotely, or in a hybrid format, depending on the situation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: collating guidance materials, assisting in the collection and sharing of best practices, facilitating online communities of practice, preparing for senior-level management meetings, and supporting the tracking and analysis of UNSDG decisions. Depending on the track chosen, interns may also engage in strategic planning, data analytics, and policy analysis. Specific responsibilities include supporting the development of data models, building interactive dashboards, conducting geo-spatial analysis, and preparing analytical reports and presentations. Interns will also assist in monitoring global trends and coordinating the formulation of strategies and policies.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled or recently graduated from a graduate school program in public policy, information management, data science, international relations, or a related field; or be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. No prior work experience is required, but candidates should demonstrate their intention to pursue further studies or work in a relevant field. Skills in data analysis, policy development, and knowledge management are beneficial.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess at least a bachelor's degree or be enrolled in a graduate program related to public policy, data science, international relations, or a similar field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of the UN's work and contributing effectively to the internship.

Experience:
