Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at UN Women India focuses on supporting the organization's private sector engagement efforts under the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The role involves conducting due diligence assessments on potential WEPs signatories, which is crucial for ensuring that companies align with the principles of gender equality and women's empowerment. Volunteers will be responsible for profiling a significant number of companies, maintaining trackers for due diligence status, and supporting outreach efforts to encourage participation in the WEPs Awards. Volunteers will work under the guidance of the Private Sector Officer for Women’s Economic Empowerment and will be expected to contribute to various tasks that promote the WEPs and support the recognition of companies demonstrating leadership in gender equality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will undertake a variety of tasks, including conducting due diligence assessments on potential WEPs signatories using the established UN Women/Regional Office due diligence framework. They will complete due diligence reviews and profiling of approximately 300–400 companies during their assignment. Additionally, the volunteer will maintain and regularly update a tracker that includes company profiles, due diligence status, risk assessment findings, and recommendations. They will disseminate information related to the WEPs Awards 2026 to companies and business networks, conduct outreach to around 500 companies through emails and follow-up communications, and support responses to basic queries regarding the awards process. The volunteer will also maintain a tracker of outreach conducted, follow-ups completed, applications received, and pending actions, aiming to secure an additional 30–40 WEPs Awards applications. They will assist in reviewing applications and coordinating the collection of missing information and supporting documents from applicants. Weekly progress updates summarizing due diligence completed, outreach conducted, applications received, and follow-up actions required will also be part of their responsibilities. Online Volunteers may be required to join an orientation call virtually, and all necessary documents and resources will be provided by UN Women.
