Job Overview: The Information Management, Design & Advocacy Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Shelter Cluster has access to accurate and timely data to inform decision-making and advocacy efforts. This position involves analyzing and verifying data, preparing reports, and designing visual materials that communicate key information effectively. The officer will be responsible for managing the cluster's social media presence and supporting advocacy communications, ensuring that the needs of affected populations are highlighted and addressed. The role requires a blend of technical skills in information management and design, as well as strong communication abilities to translate complex data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities: The officer will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: monitoring project implementation progress on a daily basis, acting as a liaison between information management, coordination" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">cluster coordination, and communications teams, ensuring compliance with NRC policies and guidelines, and promoting innovative approaches to assist target beneficiaries. Specific duties include developing user-friendly reporting formats, collecting and analyzing shelter needs data, coordinating with other cluster IM officers, maintaining the Shelter Cluster database and website, producing regular fact sheets, and designing visual products such as infographics and dashboards. The officer will also be responsible for translating data into advocacy narratives, monitoring social media engagement, and coordinating messaging with various stakeholders to amplify advocacy campaigns.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university or college degree in fields such as Computer Sciences, Communications, Graphic Design, Geography, or a related area. A minimum of three years of experience in information management, data analysis, and reporting within humanitarian or development contexts is required. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for design purposes, as well as strong skills in data visualization using Power BI, are essential. Familiarity with ArcGIS for spatial analysis and map production is also necessary. Candidates should have advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and intermediate-level expertise in report design, along with experience in managing social media accounts and crafting narratives from complex data.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a degree in a relevant field such as Computer Sciences, Communications, Graphic Design, Geography, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the technical aspects of information management and design, as well as for effectively communicating complex data to various stakeholders.
Experience: The position requires at least three years of relevant experience in information management, data analysis, and reporting, particularly in humanitarian or development settings. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle complex data sets, produce high-quality reports, and engage in effective advocacy efforts.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal, as the officer will be required to produce reports and communicate with international stakeholders. Knowledge of Arabic is also essential, as the officer will need to share information with local stakeholders and affected populations. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

The contract duration is six months, with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance.
