Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position aims to support the Legal and Advocacy Referent and the SI teams working in degraded areas in project development and the production of advocacy tools. The intern will be responsible for capitalizing on internal data from SI and its partners to highlight the situation regarding access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (EHA) in France and degraded areas. The role involves supporting inter-associative efforts to develop local advocacy actions for universal access to EHA. The intern will also assist the NGO in raising awareness of water and sanitation rights in degraded areas and contribute to the deployment of advocacy efforts. The position requires practical application of humanitarian advocacy related to the right to water in connection with the NGO's projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties include collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to understand the needs of individuals with insufficient access to EHA. This involves overseeing data collection, analyzing primary and secondary data, and contributing to the drafting and finalization of advocacy reports. The intern will also participate in contextual research and analysis, contribute to the advocacy calendar, identify advocacy targets at local, national, and European levels, and support the analysis of the local context regarding water and sanitation rights. Additionally, the intern will assist in drafting advocacy documents, participate in partner networks, and contribute to internal meetings and updates of methodological documents.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of a BAC+4 level education, with a background in political science, social sciences, public policy, or law. A strong interest and knowledge of water-related poverty issues, particularly in overseas territories, is essential. The candidate should possess excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a desire to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required, along with experience in data collection and analysis. Strong synthesis skills, relational competencies, proactivity, critical thinking, organizational skills, and a commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL are also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a BAC+4 level, with a focus on fields such as political science, social sciences, public policy, or law. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of advocacy and the legal frameworks surrounding water and sanitation rights.

Experience:
The position requires prior experience in data collection and analysis, which is essential for effectively supporting the organization's advocacy efforts. While specific years of experience are not mandated, familiarity with the challenges related to water access and sanitation, as well as previous involvement in advocacy or humanitarian work, would be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, given the local context and the need to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Proficiency in English is also beneficial, as it may be required for certain advocacy documents and communications with international partners.

Additional Notes:
This internship is subject to a mandatory internship agreement. Compensation will be provided in accordance with current regulations, calculated based on actual hours worked. The average monthly compensation is based on 154 hours, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each. Transportation costs will be reimbursed at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. Additionally, interns will receive meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day worked, with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL covering 60% of the cost.
