Job Overview: The IT Officer position is crucial for providing comprehensive support to end-users, internal users, and partners within the organization. This role serves as the first line of support for various IT-related issues, including desktop computers, laptops, printers, servers, network connectivity, and remote access. The IT Officer is expected to simulate or recreate processes to troubleshoot and resolve operating difficulties, collaborating with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development teams to restore services and identify core problems. Additionally, the IT Officer will work closely with the US IT team to coordinate support, project delivery, upgrades, and routine tasks related to IT systems, ensuring that all technological needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: reviewing and enforcing FHI 360’s IT policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs); ensuring the weekly update of the SentinelOne Anti-virus for servers and clients; advising management on IT-related matters such as budget, procurement, strategy, project startup/closeout, vendor selection, and project technologies; providing support for computer hardware, software, printers, applications, operating systems, servers, and network devices; maintaining IT systems and implementing upgrades as required; interacting with service centers and IT service suppliers to ensure quality service; ensuring optimal operation of office devices and end-user computing environments; supporting developed trackers and tools through Power Automate; identifying and promoting technical and operational best practices; training staff on newly deployed technologies; managing issue resolution through the Jira ticketing system; preparing and configuring equipment, creating user accounts, providing access rights, and training new employees; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the IT Officer position should possess a Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or a related field. Additionally, vocational or specialized training may be considered, along with an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have a moderate understanding of Information Technology industry practices and experience with incident management and operations services tools and systems. Strong skills in Excel, Power Automate, SharePoint, and database management are essential, along with a willingness to continuously update knowledge and skills as required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in a relevant field such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or a related discipline is required for this position. Candidates with vocational or specialized training in IT-related areas may also be considered, particularly if they can demonstrate relevant experience that complements their educational background.
Experience: The IT Officer role requires 3-5 years of experience in providing end-user support for current PC desktop and application software, or in installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting personal computers within a network environment. Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred, as it provides valuable context for the unique challenges and requirements of working in humanitarian settings.
Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian is mandatory, and excellent proficiency in English is also required. Additional Notes: The position is expected to involve less than 15% travel. The anticipated hiring salary range for this role is UAH 680,000 - 950,000 for the annual basic salary.
