Job Overview:
The Nutrition Coordinator will oversee the management, coordination, implementation, and quality assurance of all UNICEF and WFP-supported nutrition projects, including Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN), and related nutrition interventions. This role is crucial for ensuring effective project implementation, sound budget management, compliance with donor requirements, timely reporting, and the achievement of project targets. The coordinator will also act as the Area Coordinator and the focal person for Relief International in the county, providing strategic leadership, representation, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security oversight, inter-departmental coordination, and support for all RI operations in the area. The position demands a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that all activities align with approved proposals, work plans, and donor guidelines while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Nutrition Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all WFP- and UNICEF-funded projects and nutrition activities. Responsibilities include overseeing daily project operations to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery, monitoring project progress against targets, and developing corrective action plans as necessary. The coordinator will manage project budgets, ensuring efficient and compliant utilization of funds, and will lead monthly Budget Versus Actual (BVA) reviews. They will prepare and submit high-quality donor reports, maintain communication with stakeholders, and support donor visits and audits. Additionally, the coordinator will serve as RI’s senior representative in the county, facilitating coordination across programs and support departments, engaging with local authorities, and ensuring compliance with safety and security policies. The role also involves ensuring accurate data collection and reporting of project indicators, promoting data quality, and supporting monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field, with a Master’s degree considered an advantage. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience managing nutrition and food security programs funded by WFP, UNICEF, or other institutional donors is required. Candidates should demonstrate experience in project coordination, representation, and team management, as well as strong skills in managing donor-funded programs, commodities, budgets, and reporting requirements. Experience working with government health and nutrition structures and humanitarian coordination mechanisms is essential, and experience in remote management and emergency response programming is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in nutrition and health programming.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in managing nutrition and food security programs, particularly those funded by WFP, UNICEF, or other institutional donors. This experience should include project coordination, representation, and team management, demonstrating a solid understanding of the operational and strategic aspects of nutrition programming in humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
