Job Posting Organization:
Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA) is a community-based non-profit organization founded in 2001, operating through the Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet) in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda. The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of women, girls, children, youth, refugees, and vulnerable households through various initiatives focused on education, sustainable livelihoods, community resilience, protection, and social development. ACDA's mission is to empower marginalized communities and enhance their quality of life by addressing critical issues such as poverty, gender inequality, and limited access to education. With a strategic plan in place for 2026–2031, ACDA aims to strengthen its donor engagement and organizational positioning to better serve the communities it works with.

Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is designed to provide technical support to ERONet in developing three strategic companion documents that will enhance the organization's fundraising readiness and implementation planning.   • This role is crucial in a post-conflict and refugee-hosting context where ERONet operates, as it aims to address the challenges faced by local communities, including poverty, limited educational opportunities, and livelihood insecurity. The volunteer will be responsible for articulating ERONet's identity and strategic vision, translating strategic goals into actionable plans, and establishing a framework for capturing qualitative evidence of impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will be tasked with the following duties:
  • Develop a concise Organizational Vision and Positioning Document that effectively communicates ERONet's identity, community-rooted approach, strategic pillars, impact, and long-term vision.
  • Create a detailed Year One Implementation Plan that translates the strategic plan into realistic operational priorities, implementation approaches, partnership needs, target communities, and resource requirements.
  • Develop a Learning and Qualitative Evidence Framework that outlines the methods ERONet will use to capture stories of change, community perspectives, outcome-level evidence, and lessons learned to demonstrate sustainable impact.
  • Provide recommendations for strengthening donor-facing communication and evidence generation to enhance fundraising efforts. Expected deliverables include the Organizational Vision and Positioning Document (3–5 pages), Year One Implementation Plan, Learning and Qualitative Evidence Framework, and communication recommendations.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Online Volunteer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, organizational development, or related fields, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising strategies and donor engagement practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods and evidence generation techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect for local contexts.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, social sciences, public administration, or a related discipline is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience in organizational development, strategic planning, or fundraising is preferred.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, organizational development, or fundraising within the non-profit sector. Experience working in post-conflict or refugee contexts is highly desirable, as it will provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by the communities served by ERONet.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all documentation and communication will be conducted in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Northern Uganda would be an asset, as it may enhance engagement with community members and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and the duration of the assignment is not specified. The role is expected to be part-time, allowing flexibility for the volunteer to manage their time effectively. The position is open to candidates both nationally and internationally, and while it is a volunteer role, it offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful community development efforts in Northern Uganda.
