Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor involves supporting the Sustainable Socioeconomic Transformation Section (SETS) under the direct supervision of the project manager and general supervision of the Chief. The contractor will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at facilitating the preparation of national and regional knowledge products across five countries, specifically Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, while also supporting outreach and stakeholder engagement activities. The role is crucial in coordinating logistical preparations for national consultations and meetings, as well as in data analysis and communication efforts related to social protection and climate change initiatives. The contractor will play a key role in enhancing the capacity of countries to address the impacts of climate change through social protection measures, thereby contributing to the overarching goals of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include conducting literature and background research to support the preparation of national knowledge products, collating case studies on social protection and climate change, and assisting in data analysis and preparation of household data sets. The contractor will also coordinate logistical and substantive preparations for national consultations and the CRISP Regional Partners Meeting, facilitate the organization of consultations and workshops, prepare meeting documentation and communication materials, maintain project stakeholder databases, liaise with national and regional counterparts, and support the communication of project achievements. Additionally, the contractor will provide ad hoc support to ensure the successful implementation of the project, which aims to strengthen national capacities on social protection and promote resilience against climate change.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in economics, social development, social administration, or labor studies. Proficiency in statistical software programs such as Stata or R for data analysis is essential. Candidates should have academic or professional experience in social protection, with previous research experience, particularly with international organizations, being desirable. Demonstrated experience in research, data analysis, and coordination is required, along with experience working in international organizations being an added advantage.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, social development, social administration, or labor studies. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of social protection and climate change, as well as for conducting effective research and data analysis.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in research and data analysis, particularly in the context of social protection and climate change. Experience working with international organizations is desirable, as it provides insight into the global frameworks and practices that inform the work of ESCAP. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of coordinating projects and engaging with stakeholders effectively.

Languages:
