Job Overview:
The Review and Edit Youth Development Content Volunteer position is designed to strengthen the quality and educational value of content produced by Youth Development Correspondents throughout Africa. The volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting the African Lecture Series and the Voices of the Emerging Africa platform by reviewing and enhancing articles, scripts, briefing notes, and educational materials that focus on critical topics such as youth development, employment, entrepreneurship, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and community development. The volunteer will ensure that all content is clear, accurate, and accessible to a wide audience while maintaining high editorial standards. This role is vital in building a trusted knowledge platform that can significantly impact the lives of young people across the continent.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties that include reviewing written content for grammar, clarity, and structure, improving readability and audience engagement, and ensuring consistency with editorial guidelines. The volunteer will also check citations, references, and supporting sources for accuracy, identify factual inconsistencies, and provide constructive feedback to contributors. Additionally, the volunteer will support the development of content templates and style guides, collaborate with content creators and management volunteers, and help prepare content for publication on various digital platforms. Expected deliverables include edited articles and reports, reviewed video scripts, editorial feedback reports, content quality guidelines, publication readiness assessments, and monthly editorial activity reports.

However, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the principles of effective communication and possess the ability to critically assess written content. Experience working with youth or in educational settings may also be beneficial, as it will provide context for the content being reviewed and edited.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all content will be produced in this language. Proficiency in additional languages spoken in Africa, such as French, Portuguese, or Arabic, would be considered an asset, as it may enhance the volunteer's ability to engage with a broader range of contributors and content.

However, it provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in content editing and youth development. The role is open to volunteers from all countries, promoting an inclusive and diverse working environment.
