Job Overview:
The E T Consultant position at the World Bank is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit. This position is focused on engineering, maintaining, and optimizing virtual infrastructure platforms across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. The consultant will ensure the secure, stable, and scalable delivery of virtual desktop and application services, compute, storage, and cloud-integrated workloads. The role requires a deep technical understanding of Citrix and cloud-related technologies, with an emphasis on driving automation and lifecycle engineering. The consultant will also enhance infrastructure resilience through standards-based design, proactive performance management, and adherence to the World Bank Group's governance and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security frameworks. This position is not limited to routine support but is engineering-focused, centered on platform design, lifecycle management, and optimization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the E T Consultant include:
  • Engineering, optimizing, and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments across both on-premises and cloud-hosted platforms to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Contributing to engineering improvements for Citrix workloads, including optimization of HDX, profile management (FSLogix), gold images, GPU policies, graphics acceleration, and printing.
  • Building, maintaining, and versioning golden images following World Bank Group engineering and security baselines, Shared Image Gallery, and pipeline best practices.
  • Engineering, maintaining, and upgrading Citrix Delivery Controllers, Provisioning Servers (PVS), Cloud Connectors, StoreFront, Director, License Servers, and Workspace app integrations.
  • Performing validation, regression testing, change documentation, rollout planning, and post-upgrade monitoring.
  • Engineering and administering cloud-based virtual desktop solutions, including Windows 365 Cloud PCs and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), integrating with Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and other World Bank Group security controls.
  • Managing configuration, lifecycle, policy enforcement, and performance monitoring of Windows 365 cloud devices and AVD workloads.
  • Integrating Citrix DaaS with Azure cloud environments, ensuring alignment with the World Bank Group’s Cloud Adoption Framework and enterprise security requirements.
  • Serving as Tier 2/3 engineering escalation for Citrix, Windows, Azure, and cloud-hosted virtual desktop issues, with deep troubleshooting across compute, identity, storage, networking, and application layers. 1
  • Maintaining end-to-end vulnerability management for Citrix infrastructure, Azure workloads, and Windows 365 devices, including assessment, prioritization, remediation, compliance tracking, and risk documentation. 1
  • Implementing security hardening, patching, firmware updates, and continuous compliance monitoring across Citrix, Azure cloud, and virtual desktop environments. 1
  • Participating in and supporting Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities aligned with World Bank Group ITS Service Management and ITIL practices. 1
  • Contributing to annual disaster recovery planning, tests, and runbook updates. 1
  • Engaging with cross-functional teams across ITS, including cloud, security, networking, application owners, and digital workplace teams. 1
  • Providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer sessions to support ITS teams.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the E T Consultant position include:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the IT field. For example, a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Citrix CVAD, MS Azure AVD, and Windows 36
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Power BI Executive Dashboards and PowerShell Automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting skills in PowerShell.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in IT principles and practices, which is critical for the technical demands of the position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience specifically with Citrix CVAD, MS Azure AVD, and Windows 36
  • Additionally, candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in Power BI Executive Dashboards and PowerShell Automation. This level of experience is necessary to ensure that the consultant can effectively manage and optimize the virtual infrastructure platforms and address complex technical challenges.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders. While no additional languages are specified as preferred, knowledge of other languages may be beneficial in a diverse work environment.
