Job Overview: The position of E T Consultant is situated within the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) of the World Bank Group. This unit plays a crucial role in enabling the organization to fulfill its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity by delivering transformative information and technology solutions to its staff across over 150 locations. The Digital Solutions team, which the consultant will be a part of, is responsible for providing modern productivity, collaboration, and endpoint solutions to over 30,000 users. This includes support for Microsoft 365, WebEx, Power Platform, and AI tools, as well as engineering, deploying, and supporting Windows Endpoints. The consultant will be expected to manage Windows Endpoints, ensuring service quality and consistency across endpoint environments, and will act as a technical authority overseeing endpoint management operations for both physical and virtual machines. The role emphasizes enhancing user experience and facilitating knowledge sharing within the team to develop capabilities and maintain operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will oversee and engineer Windows endpoint management solutions, ensuring reliable access to workplace technologies and systems. Key responsibilities include resolving complex issues, providing expert technical guidance, and driving service improvements by identifying systemic issues and implementing sustainable solutions. The consultant will define and execute the endpoint management product's operations and third-tier support, manage comprehensive documentation of product features and user stories, and participate in sprint planning and reviews to ensure timely product delivery. Collaboration across IT functions is essential, as is strengthening team development through knowledge sharing and acting as a technical resource and role model for best practices. The consultant will also be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing Windows Endpoint Management systems, developing vulnerability management processes, managing endpoint operations and operating system upgrades, overseeing self-service application administration, and ensuring the reliability of Windows Endpoint Management Platforms like SCCM/inTune. Proficiency in SQL Reporting, PowerBI dashboards, PowerShell/Python scripting, and Azure automation techniques is required, along with advanced technical skills in ITIL, network and system architecture, configuration management, and change management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the IT field. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on Windows Endpoint management experience is required, along with scripting skills in PowerShell. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role. Desired certifications include Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102) and ITIL 4 Foundation.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology or Computer Science, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least 1 year of related work experience to qualify for the position.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Windows Endpoint management. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing endpoint solutions and resolving complex technical issues. Experience in scripting with PowerShell and familiarity with various endpoint management tools and technologies is also essential.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required for the role.
