Job Overview:
The Lead IVY Advocacy Campaign Coordinator will play a pivotal role in a collaborative initiative between the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) and Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) to implement a social media advocacy campaign in Malawi. This campaign, which runs from June to November 2026, is designed to commemorate the International Year of Volunteers (IVY) and aims to elevate the importance of volunteerism in achieving national development goals. The coordinator will be responsible for strategic content planning, overseeing the development of webinars, and ensuring the effective execution of the campaign. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align campaign activities with the overarching objectives of promoting volunteer wellbeing, legal frameworks, and inclusive volunteer management. The coordinator will also be tasked with synthesizing key messages for public dissemination and ensuring that all campaign materials adhere to global standards for volunteerism.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead IVY Advocacy Campaign Coordinator will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
  • Developing and managing a comprehensive content plan and calendar for the IVY Malawi campaign, ensuring alignment with the project's Gantt chart.
  • Leading the conceptualization and technical setup of the campaign's webinar series, including structuring sessions and coordinating logistics.
  • Running technical dry-runs with speakers and facilitators to ensure smooth execution of webinars.
  • Coordinating the work of support volunteers, such as graphic designers and social media advocates, to ensure timely delivery of campaign assets.
  • Liaising with webinar leads, speakers, and facilitators to distill key messages into compelling content for public dissemination.
  • Overseeing the creation of briefs for graphic designers to produce standardized templates and promotional materials.
  • Ensuring consistency in campaign messaging that aligns with strategic objectives and global standards for volunteerism.
  • Monitoring campaign progress against the work plan and providing regular updates to the UNV/VSO management team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Lead IVY Advocacy Campaign Coordinator position should possess a strong background in campaign management, particularly in the context of social media and advocacy. They should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves liaising with various stakeholders, including volunteers, speakers, and management teams. Additionally, candidates should have experience in content development and a solid understanding of volunteerism and its impact on development.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communications, social sciences, international development, or a related field is required for this position. Experience:

Languages:
