This position involves collaborating closely with various teams within the Rwanda Country Office and across UN Women, focusing on strategic partnerships, visibility, and advocacy initiatives. The intern will engage in research, stakeholder mapping, and the development of communication materials to effectively promote gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct research and mapping of existing and potential partners, maintain stakeholder databases, prepare partnership profiles, and assist in organizing meetings and consultations.
Support Resource Mobilization Efforts: Identify funding opportunities, contribute to the preparation of donor briefs and partnership proposals, and maintain records of donor engagements.
Support Outreach, Advocacy, and Visibility: Implement outreach initiatives, develop communication materials, and support donor visibility processes.
Knowledge Management and Reporting: Collect and analyze partnership information, document lessons learned, and maintain organized electronic filing systems.
Other Responsibilities: Provide logistical support for meetings and workshops and undertake additional assignments related to partnerships and communications as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong research and analytical skills, demonstrated through academic work or research assignments. Excellent writing skills are essential for drafting clear notes and summaries. The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively is crucial, along with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to work in multicultural teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital communication tools are also required.
Educational Background: Candidates should have university studies in disciplines such as International Relations, Development Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Gender Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or other relevant fields. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree, have graduated within the past year, or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program that requires the internship.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant experience, which can be demonstrated through academic projects, internships, or volunteer work related to partnerships, outreach, advocacy, or communications. Experience in a multicultural environment is preferred, as the intern will be working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Languages: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral, are mandatory. A working knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing the intern's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders and partners.
