YPWC's mission is to educate and inform youth on global issues, inspire them to take action, encourage youth participation in global issues, identify and build sustainable partnerships aimed at youth development, and provide young people with the tools and resources required for effective action. The vision of YPWC is to provide a 'youthful voice' that represents the youth of our world, effectively using young resourceful minds to influence global policy formulation and development. YPWC has been serving young people for over 15 years, addressing challenges related to education, employment, and health, and aims to engage youth through social media.

Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at YPWC is designed for individuals who are passionate about youth development and social media engagement. Volunteers will be responsible for creating engaging content aimed at promoting YPWC's visibility and profile across various social media platforms. This role is crucial as it directly contributes to the organization's mission of empowering youth and addressing sustainable development goals (SDGs) such as hunger, education, gender equality, and decent work. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about youth development while actively participating in the creation of social media strategies that resonate with young audiences. The position is set to begin in the first week of July 2026, following the completion of tasks by current volunteers, and will last for a duration of twelve weeks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Online Volunteer, you will be tasked with developing social media posts and creating content for various platforms including Meta (Facebook, Instagram), LinkedIn, Bluesky, and X. You are expected to make at least eight social media posts on each platform per day, ensuring that the content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with YPWC's mission. Additionally, you will collaborate with other volunteers and staff to brainstorm ideas, share best practices, and refine content strategies. Your contributions will help enhance YPWC's online presence and engage a wider audience in youth-related issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, creativity, and a good understanding of social media platforms. Experience in content creation, graphic design, or marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing is highly desirable. Volunteers should be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to tasks. Familiarity with youth development issues and a passion for social change will be advantageous.

While there are no specific educational requirements for this volunteer position, candidates with backgrounds in communications, marketing, social sciences, or related fields will find their skills particularly relevant. A strong understanding of social media trends and youth engagement strategies is essential.

Experience:
Ideal candidates should have prior experience in social media management, content creation, or volunteer work in youth-focused organizations. Experience in developing engaging online content and familiarity with various social media tools will be beneficial for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and content will be created in English. Additional languages that may be beneficial include French or any local languages spoken in Ghana, as they can help in reaching a broader audience.
