Job Overview: The position involves supporting Goodness and Mercy Missions in designing, documenting, and fundraising for an interreligious dialogue and women's empowerment initiative. This initiative aims to promote peaceful coexistence and collaborative community development among Muslim and Christian women in the Boyo Division of Cameroon. Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Design and Development: Volunteers will develop innovative models for interreligious dialogue education, design frameworks for dialogue learning combined with community action, propose collaborative activities for women, and create training curricula on topics such as peacebuilding, women's leadership, and social cohesion. They will also suggest monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure project impact.
Project Proposal Development: Volunteers will draft high-quality project proposals for international donors, develop concept notes, logical frameworks, work plans, budgets, and theories of change, ensuring alignment with donor priorities related to peacebuilding, women's empowerment, and sustainable development goals.
Donor Mapping and Resource Mobilization: Volunteers will research and identify funding opportunities, map relevant organizations and institutions, prepare donor profiles, and support grant application processes.
Strategic Advisory Support: Volunteers may recommend partnerships, suggest innovative sustainability approaches, identify scaling opportunities, and provide technical advice on project implementation strategies.
Required Qualifications: Volunteers should possess strong skills in program design, proposal writing, and resource mobilization. They should have a good understanding of interreligious dialogue, peacebuilding, and community development. Experience in working with diverse communities and knowledge of gender issues are highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Educational Background: A background in social sciences, international development, peace studies, gender studies, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or training in project management, proposal writing, or community development will be advantageous.
Experience: Volunteers should have prior experience in program development, project management, or fundraising, particularly in the non-profit sector. Experience working in multicultural environments and with faith-based organizations is a plus. Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Cameroon and the challenges faced by women in conflict-affected areas will be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in French is highly desirable. Knowledge of local languages spoken in the Boyo Division may also be advantageous.
