Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst: GBV/IMS plays a critical role in enhancing the quality and accessibility of data related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) programming within the UNFPA Country Office. This position serves as the technical focal point for the effective operation, management, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the GBV Information Management System (IMS). The Analyst is responsible for ensuring that GBV programme data is collected, analyzed, and reported in a timely, ethical, and safe manner. In the challenging context of South Sudan, the role is essential for effective programming, resource allocation, and accountability in GBV response and prevention. The Programme Analyst will contribute significantly to ensuring data integrity and its strategic use to inform life-saving interventions for women and girls, thereby playing a vital role in the humanitarian response.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for several key areas: A. GBV Information Management System (IMS) Management and Oversight: Serve as the technical expert and administrator for the GBV IMS, ensuring adherence to global principles of safety, ethics, and confidentiality. Lead the collection, compilation, cleaning, and processing of GBV programme data. Design and maintain data dashboards and visualizations to present key trends and achievements. B. Monitoring, Reporting, and Data Quality Assurance: Support monitoring of GBV interventions against key performance indicators, conduct data quality assessments, and contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports. C. Capacity Building and Technical Support: Develop and deliver training sessions for partners on GBV IMS functionality and ethical data sharing protocols. Provide continuous technical support to enhance data management capacity. D. Coordination and Knowledge Management: Participate in technical working groups to ensure alignment with national standards, document best practices, and maintain a knowledge repository of GBV monitoring tools. E. General Support: Stand in for team members as required and carry out other duties as needed by UNFPA leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Statistics, Demography, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field. They should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in programme management, monitoring, or information management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts. Proven experience in managing databases and information management systems, along with data visualization tools, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in data analysis, reporting, and conducting data quality assessments. Knowledge of humanitarian principles and experience in GBV or Women's Protection/Empowerment is highly desirable, along with familiarity with UN operational procedures and reporting requirements. Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software and statistical tools is required.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Statistics, Demography, Public Health, or Social Sciences. This advanced degree is crucial for understanding the complexities of data management and analysis in the context of GBV programming.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in programme management, monitoring, and/or information management. This experience should preferably be within the context of humanitarian or development programming, highlighting the need for candidates to have a solid understanding of the challenges and dynamics in these environments.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an added advantage, and working knowledge of another UN Official Language is also beneficial, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a diverse work environment.
