Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Service Expertises et Qualité des Programmes (SEQP), which aims to provide technical support to field teams or headquarters, assist in defining mission strategies, critically assess the quality of implemented projects, contribute to the technical development of the organization, and enhance the skills of technical teams through the development of tools and training materials. The intern will be integrated into the Operations Directorate and will work closely with various sectors, including Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (EAH), Food Security and Livelihoods (SAME), and cross-cutting protection. The role requires a proactive approach to support SEQP in researching technical and thematic information, assisting with documentation processes, participating in meetings, organizing events, and maintaining internal dashboards. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth understanding of the operations of a humanitarian NGO and the various approaches that guide its actions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: supporting SEQP in researching technical and thematic information (literature reviews, document synthesis, etc.) related to the different sectors of SEQP; assisting team members with capitalization processes such as translation, proofreading, and dissemination of documents produced by SEQP (activity sheets, internal notes, manuals, etc.); attending bi-monthly SEQP meetings and writing minutes; participating in the organization of events by coordinating logistics (venue booking, planning team-building activities, etc.), contributing to the design and execution of meetings, and drafting reports; helping to design and distribute the SEQP newsletter to field teams; updating data/indicators on internal dashboards; and monitoring the SEQP budget. The tasks are transversal, requiring autonomy, versatility, and availability. A basic understanding or a desire to learn about the humanitarian sector and its constraints is essential. The tasks may evolve based on the needs of the different sectoral poles of SEQP and ongoing projects at headquarters.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a strong interest in the sectors of water, hygiene, sanitation, agriculture, rural development, and/or project monitoring/evaluation. They should have good writing and synthesis skills in both French and English, with fluency in both languages being mandatory. Knowledge of the humanitarian project cycle and a sensitivity to quality approaches in program implementation are also required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a genuine interest in the associative world and the humanitarian sector, be proactive, possess critical thinking skills, and be adaptable. They should be capable of managing multiple files simultaneously, handle stress well, and exhibit diplomacy and relational ease. Proficiency in Office tools and software is also necessary.
Experience: The internship is designed for candidates who may not have extensive professional experience but possess relevant academic qualifications and a strong interest in humanitarian work. Previous internships or volunteer experiences in related fields will be advantageous but are not mandatory.
Languages: Fluency in French and English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: The internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship requires a formal internship agreement. Compensation will be provided according to current regulations, calculated pro-rata based on actual hours worked per month (approximately 154 hours per month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each). Public transport costs will be covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, and meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day of actual internship will be provided, with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL contributing 60%.
