Job Overview:
The RE Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the ongoing Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) projects in the eastern region of Afghanistan. This position is based in the Area office east-JAA, with the requirement for travel to operational areas as needed. The RE Officer will assist the EORE department in various tasks aimed at achieving project objectives, including maintaining communication with team members, managing data collection and analysis, and ensuring the timely delivery of educational materials. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of EORE activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The RE Officer's responsibilities include: assisting with procurement processes and updating procurement plans; maintaining regular communication with RE Officers and Team Leaders regarding daily activities; managing the logistics of sending RE materials to project sites; participating in data collection and maintaining EORE-related databases; monitoring EORE activities in target provinces; collaborating with the MEAL department on data sharing and analysis; creating and maintaining a database of contacts with relevant institutions; participating in project activities and taking meeting minutes; assisting in the development of EORE materials; drafting DRC documents and correspondence; contributing to work plans and reports; reviewing RE progress and ensuring compliance with project requirements; compiling weekly reports from the field; assisting with recruitment processes; and supporting the overall operation of DRC programs in Afghanistan.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 2-3 years of experience in the humanitarian field, preferably with national or international NGOs, and experience in Mine Action is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, along with demonstrated communication skills and the ability to work effectively under time constraints. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are necessary, as the candidate should be able to prepare databases and presentations.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the humanitarian sector and relevant educational qualifications that support their ability to perform the duties of the RE Officer effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly with national or international NGOs. Experience in Mine Action is highly preferred, as it directly relates to the responsibilities of the RE Officer in managing EORE projects.

Languages:
Fluency in Dari and Pashto, the national languages of Afghanistan, as well as proficiency in English, is mandatory for this position. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms in these languages to fulfill the role's requirements.
